JOB SUMMARY: 

The People Operations Manager at Maxwell Financial Labs will have the opportunity to grow within a strong People Operations Team and find true joy within the role.  At Maxwell, we thrive on our core values of Rigor, Ownership, Curiosity, Kindness, and Straight-Up.  Our People Operations Manager will embody these core values and build on the great culture that we enjoy and protect.  Reporting directly to the VP of People Operations, the People Operations Manager will support key stakeholders on a wide variety of people-related matters and help to ensure all new team members are set up to succeed in their roles. 

To excel in this position, you must have a strong understanding of best practices in HR and thrive in an environment where you are building or refining most of the processes; leaning on automation and platforms where possible. Strong generalist expertise in compensation and benefits, onboarding, offboarding, facilities, compliance and employment law, talent acquisition, analytics and HRIS administration will contribute to success in this role.

WHAT THE ROLE WILL REQUIRE OF YOU:

  • In partnership with the VP of POPs, build out and maintain a compensation and leveling framework based on compensation studies and is updated at least biannually as part of the talent review cycles
  • Advise stakeholders on disciplinary and performance processes and ensure compliance with company policy and legal requirements
  • Partner with benefits brokers to ensure top-tier service for our employees and their families
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law and implement changes/updates when necessary
  • Manage a streamlined leave management process across all our states
  • Provide strong, actionable, data-driven insights based on people operations data through various stages of the employee lifecycle; must be familiar with industry-standard metrics such as compa-ratio
  • Help develop a clear and cohesive people strategy to aid company talent growth and retention
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR requirements
  • Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending HR policies and procedures
  • Prepare or maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using HRIS.
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Be an advocate of DEI and bring thoughtful strategies toward building an inclusive environment where everyone feels like they belong.
  • Coordinate with outside staffing agencies to secure temporary employees, based on departmental needs.
  • Assisting in talent acquisition and recruitment processes
  • Organize quarterly and annual employee performance reviews

Our ideal candidate will possess strong skills such as:

  • High attention to detail
  • Strong G-Suite and Microsoft Office skills, Excel, Sheets, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
  • Aptitude in problem-solving
  • Desire to work as a team with a results-driven approach
  • Ability to complete large projects quickly and efficiently

We would love the following experience:

  • 5+ years of experience preferred 
  • PHR or SHRM-CP is a plus
  • Outstanding knowledge of HRIS systems (e.g. Rippling) will be a plus
  • BS in Human Resources preferred
  • Start-up or Small business experience a plus 

COMPENSATION:

The base salary for this role will be between $100K-$115K and will be determined based on experience and the industry standard within the Denver, CO market. 

LOCATION:

This role will be based out of our Denver, CO headquarters.  Mondays and Tuesdays are based in the office and the remainder of the week is optional for remote work.
